Just bought a CMKA12 from ARB. Going to get it installed for a weekend trip. Unfortunately, all places can't get me the tire inflation kit (171302) before the weekend. Is it possible to piece this kit together myself using off the shelf parts?

Am in process of putting mine together. After looking at what is in inflation kit I decided to simply buy a hose and some fittings. See no reason it won’t work. Here is what I went with and my reasoning. Keep in mind I’m not in any way expert and haven’t installed this yet. I also spent bit more than the ARB kit but I think gives me bit more and ability to install way I want.

Hose from manifold to quick disconnect as I don’t want to have to open hood to use air. Have seen a couple pics on here with quick disconnect in grill that look good. You will need bulk head fitting. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0038MD180/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Longer hose, can be repaired on trail with simple tools, great rating on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007QV1UYQ/?tag=wranglerorg-20

This will be to connect hose to quick disconnect in grill. I like the idea that it has swivel at that connection. Will need adapter to connect it to hose. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EYR4WIK/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Quick disconnect for grill. I went with kit provides quick disconnect for air hose and has extras so can match inflator or anything else might decide to add in future. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CK42B32/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Of course if don’t have one you will need the actual inflator. I went with JACO instead of ARB based on Amazon reviews, and price point. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C25C4CQ/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Sounds like all those pieces should come together well. They appear to be good quality items, too. Let me know how it all comes together. I was just curious if there were any proprietary pieces in that kit that I couldnt just buy at a hardware store. There is a t fitting and what appears to be a black plastic quick disconnect in he ARB kit that I wanted to make sure werent ARB unique and necessary for the system to work.

The quick disconnect that I linked doesn’t look the same as black one in ARB kit but from what I can tell functions in same way. From what I could find is good idea to buy your quick disconnect coupler and plugs as matched. I think are universal type but makes sense to me that matched would be best which is another reason I went with the Flexzilla kit.

From searching Amazon looks like you can find just about any type of fitting too. Just make sure they match threads. ARB looks to be 1/4 NPT for hose and pressure switch. Of course if going to hardware store can just take pressure switch with you to ensure fit. This looks like the tee for pressure switch. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074FPKVZC/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Long way of saying I think you should be able to piece it together no problem as pressure switch comes with the compressor.

You can find hose and fittings at Harbor Freight, Home Depot and Lowes. No need to mail order. It should all be 1/4" NPT.

That being said, I have been using an Amazon-sourced Flexzilla 1/4" 25' hose since 2015 ( $19.99). It is far superior to one of those stupid yellow coiled hoses.

My OBA install thread is here. Different brand compressor, but the principles and ancillary parts would be the same.
