Are the inner C's on a Dana 30 the same as the inner C's on a Dana 44?

Question - Are the inner C's on a Dana 30 the same as the inner C's on a Dana 44?

My Dana 44 has a bent axle tube and inner C (passenger side) and am looking into rebuilding the right side of the axle as opposed to spending ~$3k on a G2 aftermarket axle and locker.

Yes they're the same, though there are no gussets there. From where the axle tubes exit the pumpkins and outward, other than the inner axle shafts, the TJ Dana 30 is exactly the same as the TJ Rubicon Dana 44. Same tubes, C's, unit bearing hubs, brakes, outer stub shafts, etc.

We are looking at all options here including sending ours to a repair shop to have it rebuilt. Jerry and Chris - do you have any recommendations on fab shops that can install a new axle tube/seal and inner C?

Thanks.

Not sure where you are in Wisconsin but this place could probably take care of you. I have seen their work and it was very nice.

Most race chassis/fab shops could do what you are looking to do. If you find someone to do it I would suggest pressing the ball joints out and having them weld in some gussets while they are in there.

Chris and Jerry, two, of the few guys here, that seem to know just about everything.

Except maybe how much rust is too much rust in the rust belt, but I'm sure even that comes from their (lucky) experience with (almost no) rust.

I live in central Wisconsin so Trick Chassis isnt far at all for me. I will have to give them a call.
We have tried a handful of chassis/fab shops but so far have came up empty. The search continues.

Some of them just don’t want to play around with it. I sold my jig to narrow rear ends when I moved or I would tell you to head up to Chicago and I bring some beer. Really is only about an hour job if you have the right stuff to do it.
