Went wheelin yesterday with the crew. New trail for me, it was like a dried up river running through a canyon. Lots of moving boulders which made for a good time. Also a ton of really rough whoops and potholes and stuff made for some fun high speed desert bombing. The buggy guys yet again were shocked that a little TJ could hold its bombing the desert with them. One with front short arms nonetheless 
. Until the outboard I had never played around with high speed desert stuff but it is a ton of fun and really enjoying the shocks. Had some good driving and some bad driving lol. Took a bad line at one point and slipped and pinned myself between both front and rear diffs but got it out alright. We kind of zipped through the trail and didn’t spend a ton of time taking pics except for two really gnarly spots the buggies played in. Found a cool cave that had a cool lookout window.

Something that is also very neat is to be able to drive home with a straight steering wheel even when I decide to use my tie rod as a battering ram. Black magic 4340 heat treated tie rod FTW! I’ve also hit the heavy duty clamps pretty good and they stay put.

The purpose of a skid is to protect something important from damage. You don't need skids for what is essentially a skid.

Those are both Jimmys chassis. They have 116” wheelbase on 40s with 18” belly height. They seem to work pretty well but the low belly can be a hang up at times. The other white one is a Cherokee buggy
