At what RPM should I be shifting after re-gearing?

Like other say, it depends. Sometimes its about 1800, others, its 3500. Panic, its 4500. Generally, noodling around town, its about 2500.

I didn't look up the charts, but it appears I'm going about 72 MPH at 3,000 RPM in sixth. Does that sound right?

I'm at 2750ish at 70 and 3k at 75. Sounds like your speedometer is close/right on depending on actual tire size. I used the 12 o'clock labs calibrator and got it gnats ass compared to GPS.
33s and 4.56
Works great
I generally upshift 3000-4500 depending on if I need to haul ass or not.

I've been ignoring that shift arrow since 2004.

My dad drove the TJ once way back and asked me "what's that little house that keeps lighting up?" That thing has never been right and seems even more wrong after the re-gear. I shift when I dang well feel like it's time.

I'll go ahead and be the third person to say they eliminated the light before 2005. I think it was a 97-02 thing.

I didn't even know there was a light. Maybe mine's burned out.
All late TJs have the light, even 05-06 and even autos. It is simply disabled in the 05-06 TJs and the automatics. In fact, the FSM points it out and calls it "not applicable".

Here's the 06 FSM:

So the light bulb was installed in the factory, never to be turned on
