Hey guys.
Haven’t been getting any luck finding a decent tj automatic where I’m at. There’s one for sale that needs an engine overhaul. So desperate(ly in love) I just might get it anyway. I’ve no clue what to get and where to get it. Help?

By the way it’s a 2005 automatic sport, problems with starting it up, leaks, gears, and bushing. Mechanic says he can’t provide parts but will do the work if I do.

ive been searching for an engine overhaul kit but not sure what exactly I’m looking for (sorry I’m new to this) I’ve also been reading mixed reviews about overhauling and regearing TJs in general. Anybody do it?

This may need to be posted in General, @Chris
Thanks, this was posted in the wrong section, it is definitely not a how to guide.

Be more clear, what are you trying to do here? Are you trying to swap in an automatic or rebuild your engine? If you’re trying to rebuild the engine, what does that have to do with it being an automatic transmission? Your post doesn’t make much sense, so please help us help you.

Apologies.. completely new to this.
I’m not sure whether I should rebuild or swap it. I guess I’m weighing both out.
