Auxiliary wiring help (Optima yellow top died on me)

Get rid of of those crappy bolt on battery terminals. Take it to a shop and have them put some good crip on or solder on ends. Those are just a temporary fix a best. They lose contact or corrode where the cable meet the clamp.
Or put all new battery cables if the old ones are too short.

X2, crimp-on is the way to go. Soldered is not, however, the way to go. Crimping is a far more reliable choice and doesn't cause stress risers like a soldered cable connection does.

Do you have any shop recommendations down here in SoCal?
Most any automotive battery specialty shop can make quality crimped battery cables for you. Not an auto parts store. I have a couple battery shops close to me here in Escondido, no doubt you have at least 1-2 close to you. .
