Axle shaft bolts

So after an accident when I was rear ended straight on my rear right wheel I had to change the axle shaft which was bent.

The thing is, the bolts provided to hold the axle shaft make contact with the disc brake plateau and make a creaking noise.

Thoughts on trimming the bolt heads to solve the issue or it will make the shafts’ unstable?

Are you referring to the 4 bolts that stick through the housing end that the axle retainer uses? If so, they can be trimmed down to a few threads past the top of the nut. Be aware from the factory, they are just 3/8-24 grade 8 bolts with one side of the head flattened off to fit beside the round part of the bearing bore on the 44.

Either trim the bolts of the axle backing plate assembly or the 5 bolt heads of that hold the axle shafts.

Actually, I understand that the later are those that creak since these are the ones that were changed.
