Backyard camp out

Looks like fun.
Nice Bowler, tell your son to put a strip of thin foam behind the sweatband and then it will fit him.
It fits him. Thank you for tip, though.
He had it screwed way down on his noggin to keep it from blowing off. It was blowing a whole gale that day.

Curious, how far away from Leavenworth are those camping areas? Do they get busy in the summer?
That particular site is called Deer Camp, an unimproved FS camp. There is a vault toilet, but it’s no longer maintained. It’s 23 miles by pavement/FS road from Leavenworth. There are however a vast multitude of improved, unimproved and dispersed sites between Stevens Pass to the north and west and Lake Chelan/Columbia River to the north and east of Leavenworth with multiple access points from the pavement between Wenatchee, Leavenworth, Plain and Lake Wenatchee. Not to mention everything to the south; east and west of Leavenworth. Summers can indeed be busy on the weekends, especially the lower elevation easy to get to sites. We usually go late on a Thursday or early on a Friday to grab a low dispersed or improved site. If we’re going high we try and leave early afternoon. That usually puts us well ahead of folks heading over from Puget Sound.
Sections of the Washington Backroads Discovery Route run through parts of this area also.

Much appreciated. I've never had anything but sports cars in the PNW, so FS roads have in the past been no go. I am hoping to either delay the start of the Jeep projects or get it done in time to do some fun things like this.
