Bad battery?

Anybody go out to start yer TJ, open the door and watch the dash gauges go bonkers, turn the key, that stops the gauges from goin wacko, but then nothing?..Possessed or not possessed....That is the question..
 
Dead battery but not necessarily a bad battery.

Disconnect, clean terminals, make sure battery has distilled water in cells (if a serviceable battery), hook up to a bench charger and charge overnight. After the battery is fully charged let it sit 24 hours and then load test it.


I use an old fashioned "cheese grater style" load tester, like this one available from Harbor Freight:

Sometimes a bad cell makes things go haywire also. Let us know what you figure out.

Hey, group...Was able to jump it with the Glad..Battery charged up to 12.9 but slowly started to drop...New batt in the a.m....Thanks fer all the clues..Think I spooked the demons outa this one...:oops:
