I got one of these for free and I am wondering if anybody has used one. All I want to do is plug it in and check for codes and reprogram for bigger tires as it says it can be used for that. I have no interest in the "tuning" they advertise. is there a risk just plugging this into the PCM?

You can’t reprogram a TJ for bigger tires this way. You have to change the speedo gear or get a speedo healer. What you have would most likely work on a JK, but not a TJ.

I’d contact Banks and get a manual and details on how it will effect your ECM.

@Wranglerfix would also give good feed back..if he says don’t do it , then don’t. If he says do it , then don’t...he sells PCM’s
