If you have a 10 inch third member hope you pushing over 800 hp

I know we put 750 hp to 9 inches in drag racing apps and rarely had issues. Over 800 shit went south

Seems optimal and I see your point.

Although, IMO, it would be wise to run a 10” ring gear third member in a 9 inch housing with any tire 37”+ to match the gear size and hear strength of a one ton axle like a Dana 60.

There’s a couple guys around here that run the 80 series land cruiser axles on 40-43” tires. They are on buggies so they’re pretty light but they don’t seem to have problems with them.
