Hey guys,

I bought a real rough 98 and it’s been quite the project. I’m keeping things practical and cheap... as much as you can with a TJ. Wondering if anyone has some pointers on cheap seat covers and what’s worked best for the buck. My seats are horrible and hoping to find something to make things comfortable. Thanks for any pointers!

I bought the brand 'CalTrend' heavy nylon covers for my '06. I have a pup with nails of steel. They fit great. Attach with some velcro in the back, but use 3 straps under the seat to keep tight. After over a year of use and abuse they look new. Like, not even 1 popped thread new. After many trips to the pig barn her (my pup) seat is completely stain free. And odor free. They fit so well they look like new seats, not covers. Highly recommend them. Come in a variety of colors. My guess would be 1000 denier wit light foam on the bottom and back.👍👍

I bought some cheap Rugged Ridge covers from Morris 4x4, they were a little over $200. My TJ's seats are still in great shape and I love how they look, but I didn't want them to get ruined by the kids & dogs. They definitely look like seat covers and have faded in the UT sun since I run no door during the summer, but the look isn't terribly important to me - just wanted covers that are cheap to replace if they get trashed.

I had bestop covers on my last seats, they were less than $200 and very durable.

+1 They are basic black, nothing special to look at, but they are easy to clean mud and dog hair. If your seat are uncomfortable, search for threads or look in the Resources section about adding/replacing some foam.

I just installed these Caltrends “Sports Tex” seat covers yesterday. The quality of the fabric and the fit could not be any better as they look like upholstery not covers.

CARiD.com has the complete set on sale for $150

Those look great, I just ordered a set for my front seats. If they look half as good as yours I'll be happy.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Unfortunately I am looking for more budget oriented ones. Those black ones look awesome though! Just trying not to spend more on seat covers than I did on all the chassis parts haha

That was enough to push me over too. Ordered the Fronts in the black/grey DuraPlus material.
I just ordered straight from CalTrend for $89.82 with free shipping and no tax.

I was going to go with Iggee seat covers but I have now changed my mind. For $100 less, I am on board with the Caltrends.

I have 5 dogs - 2 Pitts, 1 Boxer, and 2 Tennessee Treeing Dogs. Not that they will all be in the Jeep together but the Pitts will be regular riders. The jeep also only has a full bikini top so water repellent is a must (believe it or not but it rains in Houston like crazy)

From the Caltrend chart, it looks like Duraplus would be the right choice for durability and water resistance. But the texture of the ones that @dla posted looks amazing!!! Great choice!!!

I also have the camel interior and think the black/tan combo would look awesome.

Does anyone have pics of either
1. The Caltrends in Duraplus fabric?
2. Any Caltrends in the black/tan combo?

.......
Thanks for the awesome pictures. Would you say they are more fabric or rubber/plastic material? Thanks.

X3 to the suggestions for Bestop's inexpensive seat covers. I ran them in both of my TJs and liked them a lot. Waterproof and slip right over the seat.

For the Caltrends, how hot are they? Im in South Florida so ideally would want something that isn't like the Bestop covers, despite enjoying them previously
