Best hand throttle

I used mine probably 80% of the time off-road. I used it so much the cable broke at a very inopportune time on Pritchett Canyon.

Helps get started on steep climbs and to maintain steady driving over rough sections.

I didn’t find it too helpful as an alternative to cruise control since you have to give it more throttle on any hills.

Not suppose to be a alternative to cruise control.... Won't say I never tried to use mine as CC either though.

I tried it one time and it sucked, so obviously never did it again.

Probably work good in Kansas .

I had the V-8 so it worked a bit better but even then as you point out it doesn't compensate for needing more throttle.

I had one (homemade) and used it many times.
If you haven't found a need for one, then you haven't been in a situation where rolling backwards (or forwards) isn't an option.

One thing I learned over the years of navigating a manual through big rocks and ledges is that I stalled the engine less as the axle gearing got lower. Improved driving skill and better throttle foot control also played a role in my use of the hand throttle decreasing as a driving aid.

WTF is wenching & wrenching & what's either got to do with a hand throttle? If you need to get rev'd up when you're getting the wench ready I think a Blue pill might be more the ticket. I'd be suspect of the cold air coming up under yours skirts and frosting your nutz...

Some folks I've talked with who have a hand throttle really liked it and when off-road they used it more than they did their accelerator. As I said when I tried it I didn't like it but there are those who do.

I basically never even touched the accelerator when I was using mine in the Ocala NF. I'm sold, but YMMV and all that.
