Napa Gold filter and Royal Purple 5w 30 because I want to feel like a King.
There are A LOT of opinions floating around on this subject.
Wix and Mopar are about as far as I stray for oil filters. Napa Gold is a likely third option. There are quite a few quality filters out there, but I just keep using what has been working for me.
Oils get even more argumentative, on the internet.
I use SuperTech, from Walmart. In everything I own. It has taken me from my original ’97 2.5L to the 5.7L Hemi I have in it now. Correct grade, type and normal change intervals. Been working great for me, for many years.

I almost always get a Mobil1 filter (walmart or amazon), but I’ve gone with a Wix XP (Amazon or oreillys), or a Mopar (Walmart).

- Valvoline synthetic-blend high mileage 5w-30…or the fully synthetic version. It’s very possible that it won’t matter for you.
The best oil that I use now is Redline 5w-30. I have my reasons…better fit with the turbo and the sticky valve lifter doesn’t show up as often on start up. You likely don’t need this, but I wanted to answer your question.

I searched the forum about this a while back. As others have said, there are many threads. I ended up following @Jerry Bransford. Fram Conventional 10W-30 and Fram Tough Guard TG-16 filter.

I have heard Shell Rotella T5 is decent for jeeps because it still has zinc added, these engines with flat tappets and all that like zinc for the cushion it provides, quieting down the valve train

I usually get the Mopar because it warms my heart to see that OEM logo in the engine bay.
Thanks for the correction.
With the previous spelling I could only find Sheila's Rotelle. As much as I like pasta I don't think it would be good for my engine.

All good responses here, but it is generally accepted that our TJs don’t really benefits from synthetic motor oils, although I’m sure that it doesn’t hurt anything.
Here’s what I use & have had great results, especially in an old 1990 Chevy pick-up that I’ve owned since new, couldn’t wear it out, passed it on to my son & he couldn’t wear it out either. ‘No smoke, no leaks & no detectable loss of power after over 300,000 miles.

The brand of oil doesn't really matter-just be sure it's not 100% synthetic. I have been using Fram heavy duty oil filters in my 4.0 since '98.

I'm not so sure on this.
After watching the oil geek and then asking him a ton of questions I tried the new Valvoline Restore and Protect in one of my work trucks. It was burning oil pretty bad and after the first oil change the oil consumption is nearly gone. The inside is light brown now and no visible sludge visible through the filler hole. Will be monitoring for additional future uses.
I also put it in a push mower and riding mower which would smoke upon start up. Those issues are all gone.
