Best way to carry 10 gallons of gas outside the Jeep?

Coped and welded 1/16" wall 1" square tubing sticking straight out. It was scrap from another project. A can will sit centered over this.

I might add a small gusset to it to prevent fatiguing the material from road vibration, but I jumped on it with my full body weight and it's secure.

Love mine. My brother has one as well. I've used it, had to, quite a fee times now on trips. The shaker siphon works well. Takes about 10 minutes or so to suck the tank dry. I wait till I'm under a quarter tank of gas on the gauge, puts it back to full. The only annoying thing is if you are climbing an incline, a small bit of gas leaks out around the cap. Not much, but you can smell it. 12 gallons is significant on a trip, 2 gallon rotopax, not so much.

I was planning on using aluminum for the decking but the price was going to be higher than I wanted to pay. So I used 18ga steel instead and added some bracing to reduce flex. Overall it probably ended up at the same weight as it would have been anyway, but now the deck will rust if it gets scratched.
