After BRC's years-long challenge of the 2023 Moab trail closures, the BLM has released a proposal to reopen trails. We need everyone to sign this action alert & share it! It's taken us years to get here, so, let's not miss this critical opportunity to Save Moab.
The Bureau of Land Management has released a proposal to reassess to re-open routes in the Labyrinth Rims/Gemini Bridges Travel Management Plan. This plan was originally finalized in 2023 and closed 317 miles of popular off-road routes. BRC filed a lawsuit in federal court over these closures. The decision closed world class routes singletrack such as Dead Cow Loop, dispersed camping over looking the Green River, Jeep Safari routes and many other crucial motorized trails.
The BLM has listened to us and is now starting a new process to analyze many the previous closures. We appreciate the BLM’s commitment to reverse this harmful decision to restrict vital recreation access to our public lands, and they need to hear from all of our members and supporters that these routes need to be permanently re-opened. The BLM released a preliminary draft of routes that will include 160 miles to be re-opened. While this is a great start, there are still additional routes that need to be re-opened such as Ten Mile Canyon. You can look through the interactive map to see the proposals.
