Greetings all:
I am looking for some advice on brakes. I have a 2004 LJ with 150,000 miles on it. My brakes work fine, but the calipers have deteriorated significantly and they are completely rusted. The calipers have significant amounts of rusty metal flaking and they are about the worst I have ever seen. Before one of them seizes up on me, I am going to replace all 4 calipers and rotors. What brand parts do you recommend for:
1) Calipers
2) Rotors
3) Pads
I don’t need any hot rod fancy slotted rotors, etc. Just trying to make the Jeep safer and more reliable for the long term. Also, I do not have ABS, just 4 wheel disc brakes.
Is there anything else I should inspect/replace while I am doing this? I remember in the old days, you would inspect bearings and repack them or replace of necessary. I don’t know if these Jeeps have parts like that.
Thank you in advance for your advice!
Steve.
