Originally we were both going to go, but yesterday my boss asked if I could cover the 12-4 shift for her, which meant I couldn't go fishing. So I practically strongarmed my brother to go without me and take the Jeep.

AEP really seems like the perfect place for a Jeep - plenty of roads but lots of haul roads and some 4x4 paths.

Here are the pics from his adventure today!

These are the kind of roads you find in the ReCreation Lands.

Bro says these are the good roads and one of the "trails" he went down was nothing but a couple of dirt... tracks with mud and puddles that were made by 4-wheelers.

So, help us decide - cocked wheel or not is better?

I'm leaning towards the cocked-wheel as you can see further back on the pond. My brother agrees!

After he got home, he saw how dirty it got and took it down to the local wash and spent about $9 blasting the caked-on mud off the door and wheel arches. lol

He even vacuumed out the interior for me - now that we have the WeatherTechs, should make for easier cleaning in the future!

All-in-all my brother said the Jeep was an absolute BLAST to drive out there and can't wait until we can both get out there and have fun. :D

For the rest of the pics, here's the link to the album on Flickr!

I see you've wasted no time in starting to enjoy it! Just wait until you get the top and the doors off... Nothing comes close to that!

Oh, and I'm sure you know this, but that tube bumper HAS to go... haha!

I'm looking for a replacement - something a bit beefier than stock perhaps? Though a stock is stupid cheap.

The stock bumper is thin, yes. However, unless you plan on bashing your bumper into a bunch of things, it doesn't matter.

That's one of the ironic things about bumpers. We buy these big, beefed up bumpers, and very few of us actually ever end up hitting them (at least I've never hit mine). So at that point, I guess it really just comes down to looks. However, a stock bumper with a winch on it actually doesn't look too shabby, I had that on my old TJ Rubicon for a while and it looked good!

Check it out:

Stock bumpers are junk if you do any sort of offroading. I bent mine in no time due to the 1/512" thick metal they're made out of. There are plenty of affordable bumpers out there. I ended up with a warn stubby bumper.

If you don't plan on smashing your jeep around offroad, a stock replacement or really any bumper will work.

Just fishing, no catching? click-bait..haha

Well, if you go to www.bassresource.com and do a search for the threads I start about all the fishing trips he/I/we've taken... They're all "click bait". I think last year, we caught... 4 fish?

Looking at my Anglr data, it recorded 1552 casts and I caught 2 fish.

Two. That's over 20 recorded trips.

Yeah - we suck as anglers. lol

Check out any of the ones that are in the Fishing Report sub-forum and you'll see. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-f...do=content&type=forums_topic&change_section=1
