Building an E-Ticket ride - 06 LJ

Those TMR brackets look like a great solution. I will give the straps a try for a while but will likely get some tie down brackets on the shelf for the next time I am messing with the axles.

I’ve got a good gap under my brake lines so I should be able to avoid disaster if I am paying attention!

They only work if you've got the room for them. But should be a lot nicer than the straps over the axle. Like you I didn't have room on the front axle. My straps have a sheath over them but you can see where they've worn from rubbing on things. It's what pushed me to try these out.
TMR isn't the only company that sells them. I think RuffStuff does also. And I'm sure there's other companies that do also.

Mac’s has a couple versions, currently have a 10% discount code PRIMETEN good for a day.

Axle strap brackets sound like a great Winter project when it is below zero outside and I am looking for anything to keep me occupied!

Keeping warm with the welder!

Having participated (trailer-less here — so I'm supporting cast to those more blessed) with both the straps and the brackets, brackets are both a time-saver and a 'potential' damage saver.

BTW - Congrats on the trailer! Looks like a sweet setup. Can't wait to see your continued mods to it; you know those D-rings aren't the end of modding...

Thanks! I have a few things in my trailer plan - reverse and loading lights. Maybe a toolbox. I’ve also got to test out my other vehicles on the trailer to make sure I have good tie downs in all the locations I will need them.

Having tried going around the axle, and not finding a place that doesn't put brake lines at risk, I go through my wheels now. Only works if you have wheels with big enough holes in them, but super easy to tie down too.

I wish I had that I mind when I chose my wheels. I agree that looks to be a simple and effective way to tie down to a trailer.

Jeep related is a loose term…beyond the Jeep is the gear, tools, trailer, tow rig, workshop/garage, trips to wheel…

But it's related... Just ask I'm sure one of us can help spend money, No Problem...

Every time I turn around someone is helping me spend more money. Sometimes on stuff I didn't know I needed.

I feel your pain, my shop is filling up with stuff that I might need someday but sure looks useful on this forum or YouTube!

Not much to show on the LJ, the planets have not aligned for me to get out wheeling in the past month. The window is just about closed for 2024 with old man winter marching this way. Today was the day to get the snow blower and blade on the tractor in anticipation of some snow, and to get the shop in the winter configuration.

This year I’ve got a trailer to add to the mix, so I decided to load the LJ on it and push that into the shop to allow for work on both inside.

I’ve got two trailer projects for this winter:

I plan to build out this toolbox with a winch, battery, NOCO AC charger, tow charging, and a new trailer wiring junction box.l to allow me to add reverse lights and deck lights.

The other project is to extend the loading ramps. They are 5 feet long and they could have been 6.5 feet and still fit under the trailer in the provided structure.

I’ve got no issues loading the LJ with the ramps as they are but I’ve got some lowered cars to load and they will benefit from longer ramps.

I sourced the same extrusions in 6061–T6 and some other shapes to help as reinforcements across the butt joints on the main beams.

To do this I’ve got to learn how to weld aluminum. I got the gear and a plenty of extra extrusion for practice.

And why not also try a new way to cut stock? This was on special with a free 8aH battery.
