Cam removal and reinstall

Any reason against removing a stock cam with 90K miles on it, keeping track of what lifter goes to what cam lobe, and reinstall the same cam and lifters back in? I know lifters are worn matched to each cam lobe, but if the original parts are going into the original block in the original positions I can't see any issues with doing this.

(Having some engine work done that requires stripping the block bare)

I'm not aware of any problems that would cause, but since you're taking all that out, why not just replace it?

I don't see why not, but if I were going that far into the 90K miles engine I think I would replace the cam and lifters.
