Can I get to the backside to remove this dent if I remove the rear wheel liner?

We had hail damage all over a 1996 Plum Mustang GT convertible and PDR came back looking like it did before the hail. We were very pleased and never noticed any of the hail damage after.

I’ve had my Jeep hood looked at by a PDR guy. He looked at four dents and explained what I could reasonably expect from each one. I think you could at least find the same. At the least you get an evaluation of what to expect and estimate of the repair. Mine was $600 for all four dents and one was substantially worse than yours. The crease is a bit concerning, but the PDR guy would know.

Once you start banging it out (if you can even get in there) even with a tool that is shaped to return to the proper shape (or pulling) you likely now have cracked paint that will flake off. Are you prepared to do all the sanding for paint prep since the area you will need to sand will be much larger than that spot? Are you prepared to get a color match and blend? Do you have the compressor, gun, and blending technique? I’ve painted flat auto surfaces and done pretty well. I’ve also repaired flat auto surfaces and done just ok. It is another thing to add in a crease or dent. I won’t mess with that because I can’t get it flat.

I think this is the route I'll go. Rest of the body is too clean not to address it.

What seperates a 'quality' stick from not when looking on Amazon?

There’s numerous glue sticks in the market of various strengths. Some work better with specific tab designs than others. The ones that come with the Amazon kits are good for popsicle stick art. A glue stick that is available on Amazon that won’t break the bank and works fairly well is Tabweld Black Plague.

You're welcome to, but having done body/paint work for a living, I would disagree with your disagreement. And there is a reason why body shops still exist and PDR pros are more like hen's teeth.

While I have a compressor and an inexpensive hvlp gun I've used to shoot gellcoat, paint is not my thing!

I'm glad I asked before pulling the wheel liner out...sounds like I would not have made it far. Wish it was higher and accessible from the top, but thats not how it works in my world.

Time to find a pdr guy and see what he says. Not a big deal either way, I can live with it, its a jeep after all. Hell, I've lived with a big crack down the center of the windshield for 5+ years now after my then13 or14 year old daughter caught a branch when I was teaching her to drive offroad. Its a jeep after all...

Thank you all for the input!

Daughters. 🤦 Literally every vehicle she's driven — two of mine while she was in high school, a couple of hers later on — have not survived untouched. She's notorious in the family. Holding my breath on her new late model Jeep Grand Cherokee. 🤷
