9:00 AM: Meet at Olympia Jeep. Kick off the New Year with a hearty "biscuits and gravy" breakfast, meet fellow off-roaders, and get ready for an adventurous day!
10:00 AM: Depart from Olympia Jeep and hit the road towards Scale Shack in Lewis County for an awesome trail run.
What to Bring:

Recommended - Safety gear, rear lockers, CB radio, and recovery gear. Not required, but they'll make your adventure smoother and safer.

I can only imagine the mall crawlers that will be there. It would be tough to go with an unknown group with an open invite to all Jeeps like that. You don't know who will show up. Hopefully they have a good time!

However, I do need to get OnX off-road (already have hunt) and learn some of the trails closer to me.

If you're wanting serious off-roading then I'd agree but I don't think that is what this is or even close to it. If you look at it as a way to try and help educate the ill-informed or newbs to the hobby then it might be a good day.

There are a few groups that have hangover runs near me but all the good trails here are closed to wheeled vehicles.

You've got to start somewhere... And you never know you might meet one or two who turn out to be new wheeling buddies.
I've met a few at events such as this, as you said everyone just has to keep an open mind.

You have to remember some think driving down a forest service road is off-roading & others think places like Johnson Valley are a easy trail.
