3. Hidden Hood Scoop: The massive hood scoop on the Boss 429 was purely functional, but Ford offered an option to delete it for a cleaner look, which some owners opted for.

4. Underrated Horsepower: The 429 cubic-inch V8 engine was officially rated at 375 horsepower, but many experts believe it actually produced closer to 500 horsepower in its original form.

5. Special Assembly: Due to the complexity of fitting the massive engine into the Mustang, assembly was outsourced to Kar Kraft, a Ford contractor that handled performance modifications and special projects.

6. Unique Shock Towers: To accommodate the wide Boss 429 engine, Ford had to redesign the Mustang’s shock towers, making this model unique compared to other Mustangs of the era.

7. Rare Color Combinations: Some Boss 429 Mustangs came in extremely rare color combinations, such as Pastel Blue and Grabber Green, making those models highly sought after by collectors.

8. Manual Transmission Only: The Boss 429 was only available with a 4-speed manual transmission, reinforcing its status as a true performance car.

9. Not Just a Mustang: The Boss 429 engine was also used in other vehicles, including the Ford Torino Talladega, which was another homologation special for NASCAR.

10. Drag Strip Champion: Despite its NASCAR origins, the Boss 429 found a second life on the drag strip, where its immense power made it a favorite among drag racers.

I was out in the country yesterday and came across a bunch of old rides sitting around, even saw an early '50s Ford truck working in a hay field, but I was only able to get a pic of this Ford peaking out of a barn.

I also learned how these EVs are going on long trips. Apparently, you just swap cars until you find a charger.

Oh that makes SOOOO much sense.. We'll tow an extra EV so when one runs out of charge we can switch to the other one and tow the first... (once reality sets in and they discover that they reduced the effective range of BOTH cars by over half)
