Car pics too cool not to share

Every year at Aquafest a couple of Lake Stevens residents would enter their completely restored Amphicars in the parade and finish off by driving out into the lake.. I remember the first year I saw them, they had some unsuspecting young passengers that thought the cars looked cool so they asked for a ride. They were absolutely not prepared for splashdown. Terror was the only description I can use to describe the look on their faces.

Very first time I ever saw one was in upstate New York. I was just a young'n, maybe 5 years old. Anyway, I saw this guy driving it down the boat ramp and into the lake. I seriously thought he was trying to drown himself, and I was freaking out. My dad had to explain to me what was happening. Of course, I wasn't really in any better shape than the guy in the Amphicar: we were in a 1st-generation Corvair...:sneaky:

I've never been in one, but always thought they were cool little cars. When I was a kid, there was a restoration parts company that would come to a local regional swap meet and set up a small above ground pool with a car floating in it as their sign. Being 7-8 years old, I thought that was awesome.

and I just recently found out about a 55 Jensen 541. I never thought I would say this , but I like the lines on this better than a 300Sl Benz. Below is a 50 Jensen Interceptor.

The Jensen Interceptor didn't come out until '66, my friend. What you posted may be a Jensen, but it's not an Interceptor.

*I stand corrected! I just looked into it further, and it appears I am sorely mistaken. My apologies, @ColoJeep. I appreciate the education! ;)

Ever heard of the Jensen GT? Only produced in '74 and '75. A friend of mine who was in our local AMC club owned one. Only a tick over 500 of them were built. Wish I had bought it when he decided to sell. Coulda, woulda, shoulda...

Lowriders are a hit-n-miss with me, but damn if those guys won't put in the work. I've seen floor pans and control arms with better paint jobs than what GM puts on Caddies. I went to one Lowrider Super Show years ago and had to be wand'd to get in. That told me who the crowd was. Also, the neck tattoos and prison ink, back before face tattoos became a trend. :(
