One of these little Opels would probably be fun with a rev-happy 4 cylinder, maybe a Honda swap.

That is what I thought of also first off... Had a teacher in grade school who owned a Opel GT & we all called it the poormans Corvette.

When I first moved back to Washington state in early '84, I moved in with a buddy who owned two Opel GTs. I drove his orange one (a '72, if'n I recall correctly) as a daily for about four months. The car was an absolute blast to drive, Every now and then one shows up for sale , and it always messes with my mind. Rust and electrical gremlins are their biggest issues. Still, they are a hoot to drive, and I love 'em.
