Car pics too cool not to share

I remember being pissed when prices hit $1 a gallon. If I saw that now, I'd celebrate.

That reminded me of a local "gas station war" back around '08 when a gallon was in the $3 range. Two competing stations (located across a 5 lane road from each other) got locked in on running the other out of business. Over about a month, they both kept lowering their daytime fuel price trying to one-up each other until they hit the $1 mark. You should have seen the lines. They pretty much shutdown a main thoroughfare of a busy city. The cops had to post up directing traffic and stopping fights until the powers that be put a stop to it all. I remember seeing people on the local new saying how they'd been sitting in line for hours and how many people were getting into fights. :ROFLMAO: In the end both stations survived, so nothing gained.

I used to buy gas with a $5 and drive all week.

It might still be possible. ;)

“The Molnenaar Special" was hand built by the late Harry Molenaar. Harry was the Harley-Davidson dealer in Hammond, Indiana. Harry was a flat track racer and also owned the Illia-Ana speedway; a race track on the Indiana, Illinois line. This midget car is powered by a 750 cc Harley-Davidson XA military shaft drive engine. The car has great style and is in original as raced condition.

1928-1931 Ford Model A
Around 4 million Model A were made globally, including at the Ford Plant Geelong Australia.
This is the mail truck or Off Road version. Powered by a 3.3 L 201 ci 4 cyl and it had a 3 speed sliding mesh gearbox also known as a “Crash box”, a non synchronised gearbox. The driver had to match RPM to output shaft speed.
With those huge tractor type wheels we reckon they would be pretty unstoppable!
