Go BIG or Go home 56 GMC 503 I-6
Would that happen to be the "big block 6"? I just learned this week that GMC had a small, medium and large I-6.

How about a 351 V6?

Yup. Group 3 engine 503 c.i.d 4.562 bore X 5.125 stroke. 225h.p @ 3200 and 436lb.ft. torque at 1200 r.p.m plus it would have that sweet I-6 exhaust song !
I have some options lying around with nothing to do, like a 283 or 327 and a couple Powerglides
Talk about not revvin'. That'd probably be a hell of a puller with a little forced induction.

I like that notion. Just the fact that no one seems to build anything with a 283 anymore is reason enough to do it. I've many times built a street rod in my head with that engine in it...
Just a high revving 302 with a .125 smaller bore , definitely a build able street rod motor !!!

283 block + 327 crank = backwards 302.
I'm not sniveling about a touch screen or a PHOOOOOONNE!! because for fucking once, there isn't one. And a skirt hangs from the hips, a dress hangs from the shoulders - get it right! For once he isn't sniveling about a touch screen or a smart phone. If he lived in AZ I'd have guessed the cactus was prickling his balls under his dress. The way he's always sounding like some cranky old women with 20 cats...
You say that as if its a bad thing! Now you're just being weird.

Chevy did this , it was the 307 .
283s don't have much support anymore, and parts are harder (and relatively expensive) to find now.
