Car pics too cool not to share

No offense to your buddy, but I think maybe a bit quick to focus on the brand here. I mean, common badge aside, they also have a Steve in common... :D

We already went down that path while working on the car yesterday. I do think the Mercury's issue is Steve related, but not the other two cars. No, those were 100% my dad, so I can only assume he's part of the Mercury's issue too. ;)

Ya don't say? Hmmmm...

Yeah, but that's due to disassembly and neglect. I still think this might be a Ford issue. ;)

Actually, I have a really good idea of what's happening, and it's not Factory Ford stuff. Also, that old flathead runs well. She doesn't have any power, but she's a smooth operator. The guy who rebuilt it had been doing so since those engines were available new, and he knew what to do with it. Interestingly, due to age and health, he couldn't see across the room, but I think he'd been doing it so long he did a lot of it by feel and just general know-how. I'm pretty sure this was the last engine he built.

The wheels don't fit the car but it's a sweet looking wagon.

There used to be one down near Benton City, Oregon that was sitting in a guy's yard, right close to the roadway. First time I had ever seen one. Never did stop to inquire about it, though I don't know why...🤷‍♂️

It might still be there. Don't you have a new turbo to break-in? ;)

There's that '57 Buick Caballero, a Henry J that was set-up for the 1/4 mile, and a '57 Dodge D500 that are/were all in the same general area. But that was 40 years ago. I know the Dodge is gone (I looked for it back in 2012). No idea if the other two still exist. As for the new turbo, man, what a difference it made! (y)

Interesting. I assume you stayed with a stock replacement, was the original just worn out and leaky, not pumping enough air? I've only been involved with replacing 1 turbo, and that was on an 11 liter Cat I think, I'm not even sure if I'd recognize the signs of a bad turbo beyond the obvious oil consumption or screaming bearing. What made you decide to replace it?
