Car pics too cool not to share

I wanted one painted like the Marlin (red with black roof and trunk). I've owned several Marlins. Have a '66 in my garage right now, in fact. So, yeah, I'm down with that. (y)

Let us have a peek at that Marlin ! They are just different enough they would make a great street car ! I see a rear up rake , 60 series tires , and a loud
AMC 401 !

Major project. I had the entire front clip cut off, and the front of a '66 Ambassador welded on. It increased the wheelbase by four inches, and gives it the "over/under" headlight stack. There was only one built (see story). I want a clone of that car, so...

They look small. How tall are you?

6' and at the time I sat in it I was probably 230...now 205 but I bet it will still be too tight. Besides my tubby stomach hitting the steering wheel, the peddles are too close to each other. Went through this on my 1974 Triumph TR6, hit both the gas and brake at the same time in reverse and slammed it into the the back of my 2008 E350, steel bumper work van in my own driveway. Very embarrassing walking into my house to explain what I had just done.

The first three years of the Chevrolet Impala 58, 59, and 60. With 58 being my FAV....

I love each one for their unique styling, to be sure, but I guess if I had to live with one forever, it'd be the '60...or the '58. No, the '59. No...yeah...the '60...:sneaky:

By the time I got to the last pic of the pink Caddy, I was openly weeping... 🥲

CA car culture is like NO OTHER.... It was one of the main reasons I use to love to go visit my cousins in Nipomo. They'd take me to car shows every weekend and it was amazing. They sent me a huge photo album of a bunch of shows while I was in Iraq.

I talked to the pink caddy guy. He just bought it a few months ago with only 27k original miles. New tires and that was it. It was a lot of nice stuff there that night. Every time I get out there I try to get to a car show or meet.

We also saw the hydro race that day at Mission Bay too. Jet engine power for the H1 unlimited with a speed of 165mph that day
Nice gear head day for sure!

Nope 58 for sure. IMO the rear of it just has more style.

1960 All the way!! How could I say something like that?

Because the back of the 58 looks like it was the inspiration used to create the angry grille:

And the 59 tail lights may have had something to do with UPS using Oldsmobile Alero headlights:

Ahhh....Perfection!! Kinda blurry but Perfection none the less.
