Car pics too cool not to share

One of my pastimes is listening to the refrigerator at night to make sure it is cycling correctly. Mechanical skill sets can really interfere with just living .
Today I noticed the 4Runner seemed to shift faster on the 1-2 shift , It had my attention for 20 minutes . I hope you could just drive and enjoy your trip Squatch , but I understand the struggle .

I'll bet you're a gauge watcher, too. I know I am. Afterall, they don't just put them there for our entertainment! ;)

What I find interesting is apparently - from what I can see - there isn't a gigantic infotainment screen. Maybe a couple of tiny screens/displays? Of course it still has all the luxury bullshit and a double cab. I think I'm hallucinating about the infotainment - what am I missing?

Here's a 2012 f450 dash you might like. I can’t even bluetooth music in this dang patrol

I've known a number of people who were downright oblivious to the condition of their vehicles and set off on their trips without a care in the world.

Sounds like my dad. I've had to rescue him from the side of the road at least a dozen times over the years. He also likes to tell me that I "over think things". I guess he means things like the gas and temp gauge. :sneaky:

I know that struggle. We just turned on our furnace (old oil unit). If I hear that thing hum just slightly off tune at 3 am, I'm up and ready for the fight.

I found a poor mans Chevy yesterday. A cold rain was hammering down so the pic is a little blurry, but mid '50s (55?) Fords are quite rare around here.

Isn't the takeover of crossovers/SUVs at least partially due to CAFE standards?

Partially maybe , but it's all a game , trucks got huge because of .gov Footprint rules . I guess I'm in a brave new world of forced subscriptions to make your leased car function , and limited vehicle options. 🤮
