Hose clamps, good idea....Thanks for that.I put my external speaker up on the roll bar between the driver and passenger. Alot easier to hear up by your head. I used hose clamps. I don't remember what make the speaker is, but I can look for you. It has been up there for years and works great.
Why place the speaker far away from the driver?I know in the dump trucks we run, I like to get my external speaker as far away as possible from the driver. We used to get Motorola speakers and use them, they were excellent quality, and sounded excellent.
I was wondering the same thing. Why place the speaker far away from the driver?
Can't you just turn the volume down?Farmergreg is correct. But most of the radios we use have adjustable gain on the radio in order to deal with feedback. And the good speakers are very loud, so you have to get them away from the operator. Not as easily done in a Jeep.
I was thinking to do the same, mines a RoadPro and rectangular like yours, cause I don’t like to be squareI mounted mine here,

I think it is a Motorola speaker. I attached it to the dash with HD 3M velcro. Didn't want to drill holes.
Is the top off your Jeep right now? With the top off and going down the round... It will be a little harder to hear.I bought an external speaker, but turns out I didn't need it. My CB is plenty loud enough mounted under my dash. I did just buy a Arizona Cb mount to mount it above the mirror, but yet to install it. I suppose I still wont need a speaker because it should be even louder mounted over head.
Well the top is off, but the transmission is pulled at the moment too haha. CB is loud as hell now!Is the top off your Jeep right now? With the top off and going down the round... It will be a little harder to hear.
Funny!Well the top is off, but the transmission is pulled at the moment too haha. CB is loud as hell now!
Well, if it isn't loud enough I do have an external speaker if necessary, just haven't needed one yet.
