What's up everyone, I have a 2004 Jeep X. I bought the car a 2 months ago and I noticed I don't have a sub in my center console. Was it a option? Are the wires there? Would it be easier to just get a tailgate sub? - Thanks

(YES I have the stock radio)

Yes, there were two options, and one had a sub. Sounds like you do not have one. If you want a real sub then the factory sub is only a mid bass so you need a real sub. Pending on how you use your jeep will better help you determine the best placement for a sub. Under the front seat, rear seat or in the rear cargo area come to mind.

Yes, it was an option. If your center console is just an empty storage pocket, you could install a powered sub in there. The factory radios aren't the best. Aftermarket head units are inexpensive, produce better sound, have more built in power, and Bluetooth capability.

If the slots on the driver's side of the center console are "filled in" with more plastic, there wasn't a sub installed.

There's quite a few options available to install a sub into that spot, though, if that's what you want to do. I installed a Tuffy center console to replace the stock console and get a sub in.

Beside the center console, there's some other options if you are a creative handyman, like under the back seats, add a kicker in the front, up in the roll bars in between the driver and passenger, all the way at the back cargo area, etc.
