I had changed out my spark plugs for my 2004 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 (don’t recall what brand old plugs were) and put champion in and they lasted alright. I got a misfire code recently and replaced them and my buddy picked me up the ngk plugs instead of champion, and a new coil pack. I also replaced the cam sensor and oil n filter. Still have the issue tho.
What I’m wondering is, is it really okay to put ngk plugs in a Chrysler engine? I’ve heard a lot of different takes on this, but I am kind of a novice so not really sure what to believe. Some people have said that even though it’s the right conversion that allegedly ngk isn’t as good? I simply don’t know. Thanks in advance.

Read the sticker under your hood. NGK V-Power is the factory plug. I just put 'em in my 04 and it runs fine.

I'd check your compression, or just try a can of engine restore. Maybe check for loose connections and wires, too.

Too vague though...

Why don't you go into a little more detail on the what... and the why...
is happening.

Yes, NGK is a world class manufacturer and the plugs are the standard in everything from Jeeps to dirtbikes to lawncare equipment.

Before you go replacing any more parts.... get some Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner and follow the instructions on how to clean the CC. A lot of random misfires can be attributed to carbon buildup in the combustion chamber.
Shortly after purchasing my '01 4.0L I had numerous misfires; so I changed the sparkplugs from Champion Platinums to NGK V Power I still had some random misfires. Performed a cleaning of the CC with the Mopar CC; the random misfires were gone. Periodically I pour a 16oz container of Sea Foam into the tank; the misfires remain gone....

Yeah I agree get some combustion chamber cleaner or sea foam. I’ve run both plugs and didn’t see a difference the NGKs are supposed to last longer than the 12k champion plug change..
