Changing transmission fluid in the 6 speed today, replacing with Redline MTL.

What size special sockets are needed to open:
  1. drain plug hole; and
  2. fill plug hole?
Doing this for the first time. Looks like it uses a special hex socket?

Not sure of the sizes needed, think i read somewhere 18mm for drain plug, 14mm for fill hole, is this correct?

Since purchasing my Jeep I have acquired hex sockets in 17, 14, and 10MM. I believe the 17 and 14 were for the transmission and the 10 was for transfer case but not entirely certain.

Make sure you remove the fill plug before you open the drain plug. Would be a real shame to drain it then find out you cant get the fill plug out.

Ugh I like tools n stuff, I hate buying hex sockets I'll only use 1 time.😠

I have got to find some jeep heads near where I live! ... so I don't have to buy a 1x tool! 😥 🙄
