Cheaping out on a soft top

Not sure what “cheap out” implies but
Theres quality Sierra sailcloth tops for $200 on the market

I dont see a reason to pay 3x-10x for similar end results

No car wash nearby with an undercarriage blaster?
Hell I pay $20 a month for unlimited washes and go once a week in winter so the salt doesnt eat any vehicle I drive

I say cheap out because most of the threads on here the Bestop is the number one go to brand, and costs 600-1000 dollars.

Yes, there are plenty of self service washes but you will get salt on the vehicle again on the drive back. I will not allow any salt or mud on it period. I am very particular and obsessive about my LJR to the point of it being mentally unhealthy. I fluid film and still don't drive it much in the winter. After driving 4 different rusted Jeeps I wanted something that I can preserve for the future. Folks will be grateful for this when I die one day and my kids put up a clean LJR for sale.

Well hopefully when that time comes the gub’mint hasn’t completely banned ICE vehicles and they’re actually able to sell it.

Yea that's one of those things that scares me going into the future, hopefully all of our TJ's will just be grandfathered in. The majority of the average people will be happy to drive electric/won't care what you give them so hopefully they just leave us alone lol. There is a Youtube channel called Electrified Veronika, she took a TJ and began swapping out the drive train components for an electric set up. I don't know if they had much luck with it thought because they haven't posted any update on it in a while.
