Check engine light comes on when I fill up with gas and fuel gauge goes to empty, why and what do you do to fix it.? Any response would be helpful

Yeah, we need to know what code it’s throwing.

The code they told me is po430 I believe. I just replaced the pcm/ecm and now this started. It is a 2006 wrangler sport inline 6 automatic tranny.

Where did you get your PCM from?

Not sure it is the same in your situation as you just replaced the PCM, but mine throws a code when right full and the gauge drops to empty. Can't remember the code, but the sensor in the tank thinks there is more than 100% full which isn't possible, so it defaults to empty thinking there is something amiss. Have driven it this way for 10 years. Not an issue as everything is good once a couple gallons are used up. The CEL stays on for a couple days if I don't clear it off with my OBD scanner (usually don't bother)...the fuel gauge itself resets after every ignition cycle. Oh, 2005 TJ btw.

I don't think the person at the shop really knew what he was doing he had trouble getting the reader to recognize my jeep. I'm gonna take it somewhere else and have them pull the codes.
