I have a 1995 Cherokee XJ with over 200,000 miles with plenty of rust. I've owned it since it had 30,000 miles and it has been pretty well maintained. Engine & trans. are in good shape. It needs new rocker panels, floor panels, etc.. I am done with it and am not putting any more money into it. There is someone interested in buying it who is well aware of the rust. What would be a fair price to ask for this?

Hell no. The XJ has no frame and uses the body for structure. That thing is hammered.
Yeah, it's done which is why I'm getting rid of it. The way I see it is the engine & trans. are salvageable. This used to be a daily driver on PA roads several years ago.

Apologies, I read through your op a bit quick and missed you were looking for a price. I would not pay more than 500. I see it as engine and transmission cores, and possibly some small parts.

I think as a whole vehicle it's next to worthless. I think that as parts however, you could part it out and sell the engine, as well as anything else that is salvageable, then have someone haul away the body. I'm guessing you might be able to make an easy $1000-$1500 doing that.

Yeah, I agree Chris. The body is shot and beyond repair. Might be OK on a farm as a work vehicle but not on the road. I'll be content to get $900 if the buyer takes all.

Cherokee up date. I found a buyer for my XJ. I was totally honest up front about the rust and allowed the buyer to fully inspect so he knows what he is getting into. Sold for $850.00. Now I have a little seed money for my TJ future projects like re-gearing, lockers, SYE, axle shafts, etc.. No hurry to move on any of these as the TJ is not a daily driver and I'm still in the learning curve as well as driving to see how far I want to go with respect to up grades.

I didn't see this thread until just now. Not that I was even looking for a XJ but was the interior in similar condition as under the hood (not bad) or was it more like the floors and "frame" (really bad)?

Also did the body have any good parts like bumpers, the grille and/or the fiberglass hatch?

The interior was in good shape as well as the fiberglass hatch. All the parts were in pretty good shape.
