Chevy Gen V 4.3 LV3

Then you're not driving spiritedly enough. My 4 banger used to see 5,500 RPM's every time I drove over Snoqualmie pass. 3rd gear & 60 MPH was good for around 5,500 RPM's.

Not a bad sounding engine for a swap.

It does look like a cool swap, but the thing that deters me is I looked up fuel efficiency of what those L3B came in and it is worse compared to both the LV3 V6 and L83 V8. I think its the same as the 6.2 L86 that has way more power as well. Could the efficiency be better in a lighter vehicle like the Jeep…perhaps. But in my mind, the LV3 is already 200lbs lighter than a 4.0 or iron block LS and I think would be easier getting to work in the Jeep especially since it uses a standard GM trans bold pattern which there are many ways to make a Jeep trans work or adapt a Jeep transfercase to a GM trans.

a TJ is only a couple hundred pounds, maybe 10%, lighter than the lower-trim 2.7L Colorado. I think it's more likely it gets even worse mpg in the TJ with its dramatically worse aerodynamics.
