Would this be from the brakes? i recently changed them but after my master cylinder went to crap which i’ve now restored i got restored brake pressure despite it still being mushy, i feel like the pads are just not releasing the calliper properly and it makes a screaming screeching sound when i left off the accelerator or start driving, you can still hear it a tiny bit while driving and it stops if you apply immediate hard brake pressure and let go.

Almost sounds like the little metal wear indicators but I don't know why. I'd pull everything apart, inspect, look and get someone to help you bleed the system again.

Calipers are probably not releasing correctly.

Either the bolt/guide pins are not greased correctly, the caliper pistons are seizing, or there are deep grooves worn on the knuckles where the caliper sits.

Definitely sounds like its draggin something
You shouldnt be driving it if your pedal is mushy either

If you cant identify the problem, take it to a mechanic who can before you get into an accident you will regret
I already did take it to a mechanic, he told me the mushy pedal was caused by a bad master cylinder so i replaced it and got a lot of regained pedal pressure but not as good as it can be so im about to re bleed the system and maybe that would fix the brakes slightly sticking, the brakes work good enough that i was able to drive without being too worried about safety compared to before.

You’re almost dead on, when i re did the brakes the right side pins were rusted on the calliper and the rubber boot for one of them was all chewed up, so i had to hammer them loose but i forgot to re grease it because i desperately had to leave in a rush, the left ones were just gold and almost looked new they just weren’t greased.

I didn’t think about that thank you, i’ll take it apart again and greased everything

Update after listening carefully for a grueling 20 mins of slow driving it’s the rear drums

If you jack up the rear end and spin the back wheels do the shoes drag on the drums?
I have rear discs but the parking brake is a drum and I got a noise like this today out of the blue. I need to do some diagnosing - starting with what I described!
