I sold mine in 2000 for $5k and is all OEM with 127,000 miles little surface rusts and during the time when lot's of people drooling for the TJs and don't like the square headlights.

That was a bad time to sell a YJ but your's is well kept, mine was not.

Edit: I was in Manhattan area near Kansas City - they sell better around bases.

California is likely way different from Missouri but when I started looking for a Jeep I looked at a clean YJ with a 6 cyl and 35's. It had Dana 30/Dana 44 with ARB lockers, and some decent mods but needed tires and a new top. It was priced at $8k and had been for sale for a while. Don't know if that helps, but maybe searching around Facebook Marketplace could give you a point of reference.

My son got his Rio Grande last year, (his first car, he’d saved up for it) for 5k, mostly stock- front seats recovered, light bar and there’s wiring for a winch but it was removed at some point; no frame rust, original canvas in outstanding condition, 30’s on 16’s, 2 owners, 110k miles and most of those accrued flat towing by the first owners, second just used it for an infrequent weekend driver. 5k was probably a tad high, maybe he could have negotiated a little lower but for the condition it was in I didn’t feel it was outrageous.

Very nice looking rig. From a sales point of view, fix the glove box and remove the one negative. I don't look at a 4 cylinder as a negative, it just isn't a positive. If I were selling you a 4cyl, I'd highlight gas mileage, environmental responsibilty, appropriate gearing, lower weight and if pressed, would remind you all Jeeps used to have 4 cylinders and we won at least three major wars with 4 cylinder Jeeps. Tell your buyer you wanted a 4 cylinder for the simplicity, weight and legandary reliability (the last is a sales pitch). Yours is pretty. I have no idea what your market is like, but $14K might be a good starting point based upon all of your well thought out upgrades. Our school teachers have sold most of American youth on the notion of socialism being a good idea. How hard can it be to sell a 4 banger? Look for a kid with a Che Guevara t-shirt and you are in like Flint.

Hmm. I've sold a few Jeeps (17) in my time. My 95' had no AC or power steering, was almost stock when I sold it 12 years ago. With all the money you have into it, It would go for around $8,000 to the right person (VA pricing). I have no idea what rich Cali Jeepers pay. I can buy decent mileage stock LJ here for $10,000-12,000.

p.s. Not sure about Cali, but posting offoad pics is a No No here. People want to know it's capable, not see it bashed in action. I've passed on any Jeep I've looked at with pics of it deep in mud or sideways on a rock. I want to buy a rich guys Jeep that only gets driven to Walmart.

"You never get a second chance to make a first impression".:giggle: My 95' gently used YJ, driven only by a woman to church on Sundays. Mileage was 196,000 sold for $5,000. My rich neighbor wanted it to drive at his Florida beach house.

They get 1 mpg better if that. People have the internet now to check lies people tell. I sold my Rubicon for $14,000 (before buying it back for $9,000). Don't get ridiculous.

I would love to get $14k but I think that might be a bit high, and yea I think your right about the glove box I will see what I can do to fix it.

Good looking Jeep! Makes me miss my old YJ I had in the islands. Pictures of the doors will always help.

I did not plan on showing off road pictures if I were to list on the web most likely show the first picture only. Your price of $8k was kind of the area I was thinking

In normal times I would recommend putting it on the street near San Ramon Valley High School and let the kids convince mom and dad they need it. I'd bet you could get around 10k.

You may want to drive by and see if people are still selling cars there.

Yea that's a great idea a lot of people use to park cars there, thanks for the reminder. Yes a lot of rich kids in that area, but I bet they want Rubicon JK's not ol YJ's
