Considering switching out my winch cable to synthetic rope

Would these ebay product be a good upgrade replacement? Besides the mount and rope do I need to add anything else to my recovery kit outside the typical recovery straps, hooks and locking clips.

Make sure the rope is 3/8", avoid the 5/16" and smaller sizes. A 3/4" soft shackle is a better choice than a steel shackle for most situations.

I love having synthetic, just because we always have kids around. They know to stay out of the bite, but I still like the synthetic line for less danger if it snaps.

You may need to consider your snatch block, if you have one that has been used on cable it may need to be replaced or maybe filed to make sure there are no burr's.

You absolutely cannot go wrong with the 3/8" ropes at https://tacticalrecoveryequipment.com/product-category/synthetic-winch-rope/. They also include a Safety Thimble which is much better/safer than a hook.

I’m still running steel but making the switch this year. I love my soft shackles, no worrying about being killed by them
