Coolest toy you had as a kid

This was one of my favorites. I loved setting up a trip wire across the door to my bedroom and then my mom having a heart attack when the alarm went off.

Can't believe no one had mentioned them yet... Legos were my go to. I had a problem taking things apart to see how they worked, so my folks quit buying my traditional toys at about 8 years old...I had Legos galore though...still do, but my niece's and nephews will be getting them when they are a bit older.

I think the toy that I used the most, except for my bike, was Lincoln Logs. I loved building with them.

loved Lincoln Logs, & it reminded me of the next generation build-it toys the Erector Set, I had a few different versions of these & spent countless hours building stuff, loved the motors they came with:

Edit: I can't believe this but according to Wikipedia the Erector Set actually predates Lincoln Logs by a couple years, whoda thunk it?

I had and still have a pre-war Lionel train my father passed on to me as a kid. While it met with an unfortunate train wreck years later, I replaced the head. That was my favorite. Next was dad's Keystone truck he gave me. I still have it. The images are identical to mine. My truck is in mint original condition, my train has Pullman cars.
