This had been an annual Black Friday trip for the group forever. This year there were 7 Jeeps. My oldest rode with me until about 1/2 way through Saturday when she abandoned ship my brothers Jeep with my brother and nephew. Bluey was the other TJ in the group, though the only thing TJ about it was the stretched tube. There were 2 "JK's" that were only JK in body and 3 pretty good built JK's as well for a total of 7.
Started off Thursday evening with a rollover crash right in front of us on I-24 in Nashville, TN on our way down. Ended Saturday night by spending a couple hours being yanked, winched, and towed out of the bottoms of Coppinger Cove thanks to at least 1 failed motor mount shoving my fan into the radiator. The other breakage was a JK spun a rear driveshaft and my brother, while yanking me out, broke off the Brembo caliper bolts in the front driver side (no damage to the caliper of wheel thankfully).
If you want to see the video(s), follow Wheat's Offroad on social media. I will post more pictures as they get sent/posted on socials.
She wanted to catch my drone SOOO bad all weekend.
An old Duce & a half that rolled down the hill, killing the driver in 2018. They left the truck there and put up a cross memorial.
Yes, that is a TJ with a heavily modified JK grill. It was narrowed to fit the TJ.
The oldest admiring the views that 99% of the population don't get to see. We were amazed how clear the creeks/streams were. Even several feet deep areas you could see the bottom.
The Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT's worked VERY well on rocks and in the mud. Going up one of the toughest trails (Sherwin Williams), I only had two be winched twice over obsticles and that was simply because my 33's were not tall enough to drive over the rock. A JK on 40's hand to be winched 3 times in the same trail.
The oldest showing the nephew how it is done on tic-tac toe
Any my radiator and fan carnage.
The mud hole that stopped @John Cooper. We bypassed it after discussion and me showing the picture to the group.
