Just over a year later. . . . it has black fenders. I picked up a set from Baseline 4x4 over the winter- both have "character" around the marker lights. Front fender flares are pressed on, haven't been fastened. . . yet.
I'm being indecisive swapping a 2.0 CR TDI. My son's '09 Jetta TDI ate a head gasket or the head lifted. We pulled the engine, set it aside, and offed the rest. The head passed pressure testing at a local machine shop. The engine is a CBEA model. It received a balance shaft, oil pump, vacuum pump, turbo/manifold/actuator, and a couple other parts ~17k miles ago in the 11th hour of it's diesel gate warranty. The ECU has a Malone 2.0 tune. I kept the engine engine harness, ECU, engine fuse block, accelerator pedal, instrument cluster, and a couple other doodads. The tune really woke up the Jetta and would be an absolute hoot in the Jeep. Yes, I have a parts spreadsheet started. . . .
