Crankshaft position sensor not tight

Hello Everyone. I’m trying to reconnect the crankshaft position sensor to the bell housing after a clutch replacement. However when I install the 7/16” bolts (with shoulder) the clamp is not tight to the bell housing. As though there is supposed to be a washer there. So the sensor can move. I don’t remember there being a washer and the sensor is pretty sensitive. What am I missing?

The Jeep is a 97 TJ with the 4.0L, manual AX15.

Also, it looks like the sensor is original, should I go ahead and replace it or will that cause more headaches?

If it was working fine, don’t replace it.

As far as the fitment question, off the top of my head I don’t recall.
