Back in the day I purchased a new ‘97 TJ. Loved it. Unfortunately we parted ways when the newborns arrived. I went with a more family friendly Grand Cherokee. Recently I decided to return to TJ ownership and bookended the years with an ‘06. I ended up finding one in overall good shape with 68K miles in NY.

Below is pic from the day I picked her up:

First step was to put the kids to work cleaning out the interior.

And then installed some Coverking seat covers.

Previous owner picked up new carpet but never installed. So I threw that down with some new Bestop floor mats and a Drake off-road shift knob.

Next steps are on to the exterior...

Nice jeep and great to get the kids involved too.....what your plans on the exterior ?
My primary use will be on roads. Cruising to the beach with family, occasional commute to work or off to a hiking trail with the dog. First up on the exterior was new tires/wheels/shocks. After hearing of success with Nitto’s from a buddy and chatting with local off-road shop I locked in on Nitto Ridge Grapplers. The only downside is the 285s only come in 17, which narrowed down my wheel options. My wheel criteria was: Black, low key, no simulated bead locks, 5x4.5 lug pattern, -6 offset. So I ended up having the following installed:
- Nitto Ridge Grappler (285/70R17) tires
- KMC XD301 Turbine wheels
- Billstein 5100 shocks

The TJ had a dent on the passenger front fender that I wanted to get fixed.

I took the Jeep to a local body shop to pursue a repair but realized it would be cheaper to buy a replacement (painted) fender from Revemoto. It arrived last week:

So I solicited some help from my son and removed the dented fender.

I am extremely happy with the quality and color match of the fender. Also Revemoto service is first class. Great customer experience.

Is that a OE Mopar replacement fender or an aftermarket brand? I agree that a pre-painted fender is indeed an awesome idea.

I wonder if that would only work on the more color match friendly colors where you don't need to blend to the other panels on the body? I'm guessing my 21 year old black jeep wouldn't be a candidate which is a bummer

Aftermarket.
From Revemoto’s site: “fenders are made of impact-resistant steel and are designed to match OEM quality, durability and fitment.”
There isn’t a single difference from the original fender (other than no damage :) ) I removed and the one I installed. Glad I went this path.

Yeah I figured silver is on the lower risk side of the color range. I’m curious how a dark color would work out. Call them and ask. They are extremely responsive and customer focused.

That's good news! I say that because others have had issues with low quality aftermarket fenders lining up and matching. Good to know this isn't the case for your fender!

Yes, I saw some of that feedback so was a bit leery myself, but figured I’d give it a shot. Again, glad I did and highly recommend them if anyone is thinking of replacement.
BTW.. this forum is extremely helpful and a great resource!

Glad you think so!

And I will admit, the idea of being able to order a painted fender delivered to your door, that's absolutely awesome!

I picked up Kentrol stainless steel side steps and a front frame cover. I had them black powder coated along with the front bumper at a local shop. Picked them up today. Looking forward to installing this weekend.

The other night I replaced the hood latches with a Kentrol stainless steel set.
