Today I started my vacation and decided to go back up to Mosquito Ridge Road. I mainly wanted to stop at a Ranger station and get some maps, but they were closed. I also wanted to check out the place where hubby said he wanted to camp. I didn't think we could camp there, so I went back to check it out. Nope, can't camp there. LOL From there I went back down the trail hubby and I had gone down a few weeks back. If I saw it right, it is actually called Peavine Rd. It leads to Grouse Falls. We saw another road off of it and today I decided to take it. It is called Cuckoo Ridge Rd. Figured I was kind of CooCoo, so might as well check it out. LOL It is a nice light off road trail. Got narrow in a few spots, wet in a few spots and beautiful all around. I only put my Jeep into 4H once, and I doubt if I really needed too, but didn't want to take a chance climbing up some loose packed rocks on the way back up one of the sections.
Here are a lot of pics.
This is along Mosquito Ridge Rd.
Here is where hubby thought we could bring our friend with the VW Busses and camp. Nope, 15 Min parking only. LOL
Here is the road that leads to Grouse Falls. I think it is called Peavine Rd. I really need to start caring a pen and paper so I can write these things down. LOL
And this is Cuckoo Ridge Rd.
There were a couple off shoots that I took. This is the end of the trail on one of them.
Couple of narrow spots.
Tried some different perspective shots. LOL
Here is the end of the line of the second spit off. I guess one could go over it, but it ended up in a big hole on the other side.
Someone has camped in this spot before. May have to do some tent camping here. Once I get my cots that is. LOL
This next spot is just a road I saw coming back down Mosquito ridge road. It turned out to be the spot they store their snow plow for their tractor. Made for some nice pics though.
I had some more, but I found out that one can only upload 50 files in one post. LOL I have a few more I'll share in another post.
