Cummins R2.8 swap Alaska build

side question, did they get any new Bald Eagles on Elmendorf?

Right before we left Alaska both Bald Eagles were put down, Notch, and Jack i think was the second ones name

What is this and why was your driveline guy not consulted? Good on ya and looking forward to seeing you get this done.

Hahah How are you?!?! I kinda just said I've been saving up for a motor swap for awhile and Cummins shot me an email since i was on a waiting list and i pulled the trigger!!

All good. Did you get the tcase with the AX15 if not we will need to get you a new input gear and should do a six pinion planetary while you are at it.

So i ordered the input shaft from Novak for the tcase. What's the 6 pinion planetary???

They come in many np241 and np261.and others. So long as the donor is newer than 96 or so the gear cut will be the same. Another neat trick is the wide chain and sprockets from a durango 231dhd. I got both from pick and pull for 15$ the kid charged me for a timing set,lol

This build goes way beyond what I'm willing to do to our TJ. Good for you.

As a side note, I went to Bartlett High for a few years back in the 80's, (mom & dad both worked on Ft Richardson). We moved out to Eagle river and I had to switch schools for my junior and senior year.

For the second half of my sophomore year, I had to run from school through the woods to the fish hatchery on Ft. Richardson to get a ride home w/ my folks... If I missed them, I had to walk across base out to the main gate to catch a bus out to Eagle River, which still left me w/ a 3+ mile walk up hill to get home.
Oh, the good ol' days.

when the kit first came out, i was the first person to order from Axis, they had free shipping in the US.

Since i was the first person he honored the free shipping even to interior Alaska. and then immediately changed it to the lower 48.

i may have been the first to order but i was like the tenth person to get the kit

Ahhh you Cummins shipped the motor up here to AK free of charge which was awesome. I went with quickdraw who went above and beyond to work with me and get the ax15 adapter kit up here at a great price!!

Appreciate your service and barrow had to have been awesome!!! I'm jealous!

Barrow from the air. This as I said was in the early 70's so from what I've heard it's changed a lot.

I had a sled on wheels during the summer. I gave the dog team demonstration to the tourists one summer.
This was Joe Reddington Jr on my sled along with my science teacher. Joe had ran the Iditarod that year and since he's Alaskan native he'd come up to talk to us. So I picked him up at the airport and he came to my house for a whale roast dinner.
