Daily Driver, Go Where I Want To Build

Did you keep the shock bodies and replace everything else?

I still have everything. 😉

To be more specific, the only thing that is new are the DSC reservoirs, hose, and the new tune. The shock body, shaft, top cap and bottom eye are my old shocks. The top cap has been redrilled and tapped for the larger hose.

The shocks are installed. The zipties are temporary so I can drive these things. The new DSC reservoirs are larger with different plumbing which requires that I build new mounts front and rear.

Also part of the refresh are these stainless steel cone spacers from RuffStuff.

I knew it was the stickers

The first quick drive with the DSCs was very interesting. Everything about these shocks is familiar and everything is different. I need to relearn now they behave, so I can understand the high and low speed adjusters better and figure out the right balance. So far, all I have done is crank the low speed from lowest to highest and back to lowest. And I need to loosen up the SwayLoc to let the shocks be on the forefront of the movement control.

Don't forget the shaft and piston...those must be new too.

Now I'm confused...Does @jjvw have 7/8" shafts?

We may have the same memory from several years ago when the DSC became a retrofit option for the 2.0. I remember the thought was that the 2.0 needed a .875" shaft with all the bits associated with that. Meaning the upgrade meant only the tubes were reused.

Same memory, but mine is much more recent (how long ago did I rebuild a set of foxes?). Apparently I was told wrong by someone who should really, really know better. My confusion is gone now, and that is the important thing.

Does that clear the top of the tire at full articulation, JJ?

I'll find out soon enough. The resevoir goes where it tells you it goes. Then I turned the fittings on the hose to put it and big 90° as high up as seemed comfortable.
