Daily Driver, Go Where I Want To Build

Did your trucklites have that ridiculous X or V artifact right in the middle of the beam? That is definitely something I find irritating about mine.

The Retro’s look interesting…🤔

They did. The Retrobrights do have a light blob that I think comes from the Holley logo. But it isn't as severe as the TLs.

I have the discontinued Banks water meth kit (came with the turbo). It acts similar to the Snow Performance controller (and uses SP nozzles), which I now greatly prefer over the AEM kit that I installed. What size nozzle are you running and what psi do you have the spray come on at...and then bumping higher at?

What do your IATs look like, compared to ambient temps, when you are all warmed up and in the throttle at faster speeds?

The current nozzle is whatever Snow recommended based on HP. Maybe the 175. I also bought the next highest and lowest volumes, but haven't found a reason to change it that I recognize.

The meth injection is set to begin at 0.1psi and max out at 3psi on the controller, but actually begins around 2psi on the boost gauge and maxed out before 4psi. I have no idea which psi is accurate. All I know is that I do not recognize a problem to address with the sizing and activation timing.

Intake temps since the recent Windstar modifications are generally about 50° above ambient with a noticable and sizable decrease when the meth starts.

Livin’ heres in da South, Meth Injection hazzes a whole ‘nother meanin’…

I wanted heated LED head lights, and Truck Lite was one of the few brands with those, so that's what I put on mine. They have that irritating artifact, too. 😞

Great to hear the 175 ml/min is working well for you.

Nice. It makes good sense to have it come on around 2 psi so you aren't wasting your mix at lower pressures when your IATs still look good. What is your max boost?

Where is your boost reference hose located? Does injection begin later than 2 psi if you raise your initial spray on the controller to 0.5 psi, 1 psi, 1.5 psi, or 2 psi?

Intake temps since the recent Windstar modifications are generally about 50° above ambient with a noticable and sizable decrease when the meth starts.

Those are good numbers. How much leaner are your AFRs to account for injection?

My IATs stay around 20-40* over ambient at 5-7psi of boost with an intercooler and pulling air from under the hood (no more injection since my timing isn't being pulled). For comparison, without an intercooler or injection, my IATs were 190* to 250* at 5 psi of boost in summer temps. The intercooler dropped my IATs 100+ degrees, which I could not have predicted (I'm extremely grateful).

Your Windstar intake works great with the SC (awesome). Love seeing your nice build get even better. IMO, the Fox 2.0 shocks w/ DSC reservoirs are appreciated even more after you add power because the rig continues to handle better than it probably should.

When hot weather comes back, I ought to try a smaller injector.

About 5psi according to the gauge

I drilled and tapped into the SC mount on top of the intake manifold.

I can raise the starting injection on the controller. Though, I am not able lower it relative to the boost gauge because of the measurement disparity between the boost gauge and injection controller.

All I really know is that the AFR needle moves around and has some correlation to throttle input. 🤣

All of it together is making for a very fun vehicle!

These are the Modern 5700k, which is far less blue than the TLs were.

And very close in color to the Baja Designs auxiliary lighting.

I need to do a tiny amount of aiming, but the cutoff is pretty crisp and stops right below the rear window.

Do you have a parts list for what you ordered from Holley? Every time I look at their site I get annoyed by their lack of organization.

My number one complaint about the TLs is that, while they were much brighter than the factory headlights, everything looked grey and washed out. I never thought they were a nice light to look through.

That and the TL design just doesn't look at home on the TJ/LJ. I really like the look of the Retro brights. They look like they belong there.

Progress on the underhood lights.

The arm lengths are determined.

This parks the lights right above the fan shroud when the hood is closed.

With the hood back against the windshield, the lights can be swung out into a still useful position.
